My Junior/Senior Banquet
About this Cook
Buon giorno! Haha, I only wish I was Italian. My name is Christina and I'm from a little town in northeastern Texas. I'm presently in high school, getting ready for my senior year. Class of 2010! :) I love, love, love to cook. Primarily bake. I started making banana bread and such when I was about seven years old. Since then, I have become in love with the FoodNetwork and this website. You can ask my family: I watch cooking shows all day long. I have three little brothers and a father with an outrageous sweet tooth. He likes his chocolate, haha. And I think I just might have won my boyfriend of a year and a half over with my constant baking. ;) Music, sports, food, and family. What more could you ask for?
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to make Italian food. Giada de Laurentiis is pretty much one of my idols; I'm constantly trying her recipes. However, baking is still my passion. I make cakes, cookies, pies, bread, muffins, you name it. The smile you get when you give someone a huge chocolate chip cookie is just priceless.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma used to bake CONSTANTLY. There was always a fresh batch of cookies or homemade ice cream when my brothers and I came over. One of my favorite cooking memories was when she would save a little container of raw cookie dough for me to eat every time she made cookies. Raw eggs? Yeah...but it was worth it. :)
My cooking triumphs
I happened to succeed in making a beautiful bechamel sauce! My weakness is thickening sauces on the stove. :)
My cooking tragedies
When I was really little, I forgot ALL of the flour when I was making banana bread... How this happens I still have not discovered... Funny thing is, it actually made wonderful ice cream topping! Who knew? :)

Romanian Apple Cake
Wow. I must say, this is probably my favorite apple recipe now. It's fast, easy, not too much chopping involved... I hate when I have to sit and cut 10 apples into little paper thin slivers, haha. :) I made it without the walnuts, but my family ADORED IT. It was gone in 15 minutes. No lie. :)

Basic Crepes
I have ALWAYS wanted to try to make crepes, but they honestly sound really intimidating! However, after trying your recipe today, I realized how easy they are to make. One tip I have is to combine your ingredients in a blender. It's fast and easy, plus it prevents any lumps in your batter. I filled mine with sliced bananas, honey, and a touch of cinnamon. Wonderful recipe! Will use again! :)
