My favorite things to cook
I love to cook fresh, authentic Mexican food. I try really hard to use authentic ingredients such as all kinds of fresh chiles. Here in Arizona we have so many good Mexican ingredients that it makes cooking the real deal much easier. I also love to make homemade pizza crust and invent crazy pizzas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On weekends we always make carne asada with fresh salsa, tortillas, and guacamole. We also make fresh pinto beans and we almost always invite friends over to share!
My cooking triumphs
Learning how to make homemade flour tortillas, fresh breads, and coming up with my own salsas. I have learned many things from my Mexican mother in law!
My cooking tragedies
My first 10 bathches of flour tortillas, my first attempts at homemeade soups, and the first time I ever tried to make fresh pasta! Everything was inedible; especially my flour tortillas which were more like map-shaped crackers!
