I am a woman interested in learning to cook some of the recipes my mom used to cook.The thing is, she has passed,which leaves me trying to go by memory or to connect with others that might have a recipe close to those I seek. I am at a disadvantage as her mom and both sisters are gone.Please, if anyone knows of a dessert called:"Peach Pie Pizza Style" I will be forever grateful and likely your greatest fan! I've always been the one to love desserts.I love coffee cakes.All cakes really. I love making lasagna, home made noodles, whole chickens in my rotissere,stir-fry, and seafood. My mom was a perfect pie maker.She tried showing me,but hers always tasted better.The flakiest crust-never have I had one better anywhere.A lot of really good southern cooking doesn't pass todays standards of healthy.Biscuits and gravy,fried chicken,dumplings,beans and cornbread,veg./beef soup,stuffed cabbage and the most fabulous desserts made from scratch. A coffee cake recipe that took a lot of prep time.I kept making it as a young girl until I got it down.Finally, I had a dessert worthy of sitting up against my moms best pie. Her friends would beg me to have it ready for them when they would visit, that is when I knew I had achieved my goal. Right after my mom died.I tried to make a gravy to go with a chicken dinner.I still have jokes about the wallpaper paste known as that gravy.yuck.
