About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was a girl & I enjoy it very much. I feel it's an expression of love to cook for one's family & friends. I also enjoy crochet, embroidery, rubber stamping, and from time to time I even try my hand at sewing. I love to spend time with my husband, family & friends. I love to flower & veggie garden & in my down time I enjoy reading and have a special affinity for old/antique books. This summer was my first time canning all alone & for the most part things turned out well. Practice makes perfect. :)
My favorite things to cook
Roast beef & chicken dinners, cakes, cookies & pies. I'll try just about anything once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every family gathering for my family was centered around the food. I have wonderful memories of these times spent with family & friends & the delicious dishes shared.
My cooking triumphs
A beautiful crown roast beef Christmas dinner a few years ago.
My cooking tragedies
I have trouble with scalloped potatoes for some reason....I'll keep trying until I get it right though.

Dog Biscuits II
No doubt about it, these are a sure fired winner in our home! The cat loves em too which is a bonus. This is a great way for me to use up the pieces of chicken that don't normally get eaten when I roast a chicken. I used chicken broth in place of water & the fat from the broth in place of the shortening (it skims right off the top of refrigerated broth). I didn't have any milk powder so I omitted it, but my pets didn't complain. Thanks for a wonderful, healthy, & much favored treat!
