About this Cook
I am a wife and a mother of two and spend a lot of my time in the kitchen. I am also a Special Education teacher! I love trying new recipes and looking for great ideas.
My favorite things to cook
I love making pulled pork in the slow cooker, spaghetti sauce with meatballs and sausage, slow cooker chili, steak and cheese sandwiches, soups, cookies, cakes, and pies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family loves making desserts so I find that the Holidays bring out all those traditions that I grew up making like home made cookies, peanut butter balls, no bake cookies, pumpkin pie, and more.
My cooking triumphs
Everyone raves over my slow cooker pulled pork and the secrets are in the recipe and time!!
My cooking tragedies
There are many... especially burning the bread that has to be a family tradition too!!

Banana Bread - Quick Bread for Machines
I loved the banana bread but was a little dry. I will blame it on my bread maker because it wouldn't work exactly to the recipes directions. Will try it again though.

Slow-Cooked Chili
I think this is a great recipe but I did change it up a bit for my family's taste. We don't care for onions or peppers so I didn't use those instead I added corn. I also only used 1 small can of beans. Sometimes I add a little cayanne pepper seasoning to make it warmer. Then I crush up some fritos and put them on top. Another favorite dipping for my chili besides fritos is toasted peanut butter bread. Very good recipe, love it!! Lots of comments from family and friends.
