Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations
I used the white cake variation. I halved the recipe and used brown sugar instead of the white becuase I didn't have any. I think using brown sugar messed up my cake becuase it was very very sweet.The cake rose alright.Even if I used white sugar I don't think the cake would have been that good because it didn't really have any taste. With some more variations this cake could have tasted better.

Apple-Cinnamon Syrup
This was great. I used it on french toast.I needed to cook it for another 4 minutes. It was a little watery but still tasted absolutely fabulous.These would go great on some kind of pastry.I would actually use this than the bottled syrup, because of the apples.They are so nice and tender. Almost melt in your mouth. This recipe is great.

Tea Biscuits
When I made this recipe the biscuits definately did not look like the one in the picture above.Mine came out white and they hardly rose.I tried to brush melted butter on them ,before I put them in the oven, to give them a little color.But it didn't work.I actually made two batches but none of them really came out like the one above.I would really love for someone to tell me how to get that golden brown color without burning them.They still tasted good.But not as good as KFC biscuits or any other tea biscuit recipe I tried.
