About this Cook
Hello- My name is Frances. I'm about to be a first-time mom, and I love to cook. I've cooked for ethnic and fine dining restaurants, and I really like to make new types of food, as well as classic American stuff, like potato salad. Amazingly, I'm better at making things up in my head than I am at following recipes (especially baking recipes). I could definitely be a better baker!
My favorite things to cook
Chicken curry, anything that involves potatoes, and cold salads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sauteed cabbage, fried fish, "soggy" burritos.
My cooking triumphs
Really good at pork chops. I use sweet Spanish smoked paprika in my breading. Yum!
My cooking tragedies
Eggs. I'm not good at them! I always over cook them. My boyfriend can make a mean omlette, though!

Thighs on Rice
Yummy. Grated parmesan puts this dish over the edge!! Sprinkle it on liberally right before serving. Almost tastes like risotto. Make sure you cook it long enough so the rice isn't crunchy. For me it took about 50 minutes. I also used olive oil and garlic instead of butter and onion. I'm actually eating it right now!!

Baked Oatmeal I
Delicious. I wish I hadn't just looked at the calorie content, though. Hahaha. Craving baked oatmeal at 7 months pregnant- I COULD not refrigerate overnight; it still worked just fine. Thanks a lot!

Restaurant-Style Potato Salad
Yum!! Loved it. I left out the carrot and used dill instead of parsley. It does take way longer than 15 minutes to boil the potatoes, though. But seriously, DELICIOUS.
