About this Cook
I am a 29 year old high school art teacher living in one of the greatest culinary cities in the world...NYC! When I am not creating masterpieces on canvas I am heating them up on the stove top!
My favorite things to cook
Anything Asian! Recently, I have mastered Pad Thai, Vietnamese Pho and summer rolls, sushi, and gyoza!
My favorite family cooking traditions
For holidays our family always cooks a huge ham(yum). We dress the ham with pineapple and cloves then baked it. We ALWAYS have homemade coleslaw with it.I know this seems odd but apparently it started with my great grandmother. My grandma says she used pineapple juice instead of vinegar in the coleslaw for that tangy zip and a really rough chop with sweet onions, yellow peppers, and hellmans mayo. Oh, I love it!
My cooking tragedies
My first grilling experience was most certainly a tragedy...I pumped the grill up super high, threw on chicken thighs and legs that I had dry rubbed and watched them burn to a crisp. The heat was so high that it charred the outside while the inside was completely raw! Needless to say we ended up ordering take out and my grilling privileges where

Chicken and Pasta in a Mango Cream Sauce
Yummy! I cooked this for a couple of friends last week and we all loved this recipe. I added my own flair by using sweet yellow peppers, 2 mangoes,whole wheat corkscrew pasta and threw in a few capers as a salty pop! Great Springtime dish!
