I left out the caraway seeds (don't have any) and the family loved it.

A strange texture for a brownie. Better billed as a cake.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

I made it as written but for adding 1/4 cup of milk. It served its purpose as a weeknight meal but be sure to watch the sodium content.

4 minutes under the broiler was on the brink of being too dark. Good quick recipe.

Curried Cauliflower

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
I was reluctant to try this recipe because of the mayo, but it was actually very good. I left off the cracker topping and added some chicken to make a one-dish meal. It has a good, mild flavor that can be spiced up simply by adding more curry powder if wanted.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
These were very good and a big hit with a vegetarian friend. Just a note, if using frozen zucchini defrost it and drain most of the water. Mine was still pretty wet, causing the cook time to run long. There is NO NEED to add eggs or make other changes.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
Yummy. I made minimum changes, mostly out of necessity. But mostly I made it as is, and it was a satisfying meal. I dredged the patties in flour before frying them. I didn't have seasoned salt, so I used plain salt in the meat and omitted it in the gravy. No sherry, so I tried the hint of replacing with homemade vanilla extract. I doubled the gravy (but didn't double the extract).

I only made two slight changes and we enjoyed the meal. I used pork chops, cooking themlong enough to ensure they were done. I also added garlic powder to the flour. Otherwise, the recipe was good as is.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Very yummy. I boiled everything in chicken stock, then added 1/4 cup of the stock to the pie during assembly. The only extra seasoning I added was garlic powder, and I pre-baked the bottom crust for 5 minutes. My husband said it's the best pot pie he has ever had.
