About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
What ever makes my wife Smile :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies and Noodles, Both are Christmas traditions in my family. As a child I remember granny's house with every surface covered in plastic wrap and fresh noodles of every kind. While great grandma Ila sent each of her 57 grand kids a tin full of home made cookies.
My cooking triumphs
A never fail at a party cheese cake. It is a French Flourless cake with a New york cheesecake on top. Flawless.
My cooking tragedies
Have you ever confused flour for powdered sugar? I have! and Lets have a big Cheer for parents loving enough to still smile as the taste tested the very first cookies I ever made myself :) LOL

Cream Puff Shells
I have never made cream puffs before this recipe. They turned out wonderfully. I filled them with 1-8oz block cream cheese whipped with 3 ripe bananas, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 cup heavy cream. Next I am going to try adding garlic to the batter and filling with 1-8oz block cream cheese whipped with 1 cup sour cream; 1/4 cup green onions (finely chopped) and 1/4 cup parsley (finely chopped) Served with some bacon strips and tomato wedges!

Horseradish Burgers
I made a few small changes to this recipe and it came out GREAT! I added 2 eggs to help them stay together better and replaced the steak sauce with the new THICK worcestershire by lea and perrins.

Flan II
I personally had my doubts being a sweetened condenced milk user. However i was out and needed some flan for dessert so I gave this a try. I found it works out GREAT! The 2 changes I made were to add butter to the melting sugar, 1 cup sugar to 1 Tbls butter. This helps it to not turn hard immediately. Second I traded 1/2 the milk for heavy cream. It turned out better then my usual kind. This is out new "Family and Party Favorite"
