These turned out great!! I bagged these into a decorative goodie bag, and delivered them to the school and daycare teachers from my kids. Awesome, easy to make, and it doesn't hurt my wallet!

Parmesan-Black Pepper Arborio Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
I ended up throwing out my parm, the first time I made this. I decided to use the Gouda I had on hand. It ROCKED! Today, I made it again with parm, and decided the Gouda definitely gave the rice more flavor, and will be using that from now on. I love the smoky flavor it gave.

Bananas in Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
I didn't have enough bananas, so I threw in 1 large one. I wanted the sauce to be thicker, so I added some cornstarch. This is AWESOME, I will be using this in my ice cream.. never mind the store bought jars!

Banana Nut Muffins

I followed the recipe exactly, except I used 3 large bananas, and used 1/2 brown sugar, and 1/4 white. They came out very moist and delicious!

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I'm SO GLAD I found this recipe! My first time hosting "a holiday" and these were a huge hit! I took 2 reviewer's advice and used medjool dates, and used gouda for the cheese. I will be making this often!

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
My parents were coming over, and I wanted something simple, but hearty to make. I used an 8 oz can of sauce, a 12 oz can of chunky tomato's already seasoned with garlic and oregano, and for the veggies, I used peas and corn. Awesome! Not much was left from the pot, and had the rest for lunch. Yummy! Definitely a keeper!

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
This was my first time making this. I used the fluff to cut some time. I mixed this in my KA mixer and it was struggling a bit! Very sticky! I think I kneaded the fondant to much where it came out a bit transparent. Next time, I won't! I was worried that this will not have much taste, but I kept cutting little slivers off the cake! I made a "Hello Kitty" cake for my daughter 3rd birthday. This recipe is a keeper!

Great recipe! I used this for cupcakes, and very moist and delicious!! These cupcakes can sit out for days, and it will still be good as the first day. Thank you!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
These cupcakes were good, though I was hoping I would get a cookie dough gooey to make my mouth say "wow". Instead the centers didn't taste any different, and they blended in like rest of the cupcake. I won't be making this again.

Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

This was "ok" mine did come out burnt before it was time to come out. I should not have added a dash of liquid smoke to it. I may try again next year.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
Very good, better than the "yellow cake from scratch" recipe. Not enough to make this for my son's party, so I broke down and used the box. I liked the taste, though I was looking for a lighter fluffier cake.. Just like the other recipe, it came out like a corn bread consistency. "might" try this again another time.

Yellow Cake Made from Scratch

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
This didn't work out for me. I made this a first time, and added cocoa powder in it to make it chocolatey. It came out very dry even when I added more liquid and sugar to it. The second attempt, the cake came out llike a cornbread consistency as another viewer said, and the middle dropped with a split in the middle. My baking powder was "not" old. I won't be trying this a third time.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
My husband was very noisy eating it.. hard to sit near him. He was in heaven. The only changes I made was, 1 cup of Sweet Ray's BBQ Sauce, (usually make my own, but didn't have time) a 1/2 cup of ketchup, and 1/2 cup of a sesame ginger dressing I got at Trader Joe's, though did not add any vinegar. Very tasty, and loved the aroma in the house!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I wanted to use the icing the bakeries use, and this is pretty close to some I like! I will be using only butter next time, as other reviewers suggested. I made this as a prototype to see if this will be a hit. I'll be making cupcakes for my son's birthday in school in a few weeks, and this frosting will be on them!

Empanadas

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
These were very good! I don't think I'll be making them often, as I normally don't like to spend a lot of time cutting dough, and the task of filling. I accidently threw in the whole bar of cream cheese, so I ended up doubling the recipe. I filled mine with cherry pie filling and apple.

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
This was my first cheesecake, and it came out PERFECT! There were no cracks or bubbles... beautifully smooth top and texture. I may try the graham cracker crust next time, and start adding a little hint of flavor into it. I'm very happy that I won't have to drool over the cheesecakes as much when QVC feature's their $40 cakes.
