About this Cook
I started caring about cooking at the start of last January. I'd always enjoyed baking and cooking since I was little, but for some reason (money, bad eating habits, plain busy) I was discouraged from doing it up until I was an adult and had complete control over my life. I hope now to surprise people; my personality doesn't let on that I'm actually really good sometimes.
My favorite things to cook
Tofu. It can be a challenge to make something really tasty, but it's wonderful when done right. Hummus. God I love hummus. Turkey burgers. You can make them very good if you know what you're doing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The way my mother and I do stuffed mushrooms, definitely.
My cooking triumphs
One-upping my boyfriend's dad's uber rude/lazy girlfriend with an awesome grilled salmon I made. Not only was it the only salmon I ever liked, but the dad was talking about it for the next two days with everyone, and his girlfriend was pretty much mortified (as horrible as that sounds).
My cooking tragedies
Super bland thai peanutty tofu I made once. It was the worst.

Grilled Salmon Kyoto
I made this for my boyfriend and his family while I was in Georgia. I was a little worried since I was extremely inexperienced with both grilling and salmon. It turned out so good, that my boyfriend's father was on the phone for the next few days telling everyone about what a great cook I am. Win!
