About this Cook
Married for 27 years with two grown children, 23 y.o. girl and 21 y.o. boy.
My favorite things to cook
Anything new and different but that has ingredients that will be easy to find and a not too difficult technique.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homestyle southern fare - smothered steak with rice and gravy, fried chicken, barbeque pork, etc.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to cook vegetarian meals for my brother - really enjoyed trying new things that usually turned out very well.
My cooking tragedies
Marshmellow topping on my sweetpotatos caught on fire in the oven when I had a house full of guests waiting for dinner.

German Chicken
A hit at my house. I layered sliced, canned potatoes first, then the kraut and chicken. I used boneless thighs instead of breasts. If you are not a sauerkraut lover, try rinsing it before you use it - takes away some of the sour flavor. Thanks for a great and easy recipe!

Poblano Chile Enchiladas a la Gringa
These had a very good flavor (only my second Mexican recipe attempt). Mine had no heat whatsoever so I might add a jalapeno next time. I would also like to test these with the white Mexican melting cheese, but they are great just as they are!

Paprika Pork Chops
This was wonderful. A suggestion for those who use ordinary canned sauerkraut like me - you need to rinse the sauerkraut two or three times and let it drain. You can taste it right out of the can and then rinse it until you feel it's not too salty and sour. If you do this your recipe will turn out great just as mine did. Thanks for the recipe.
