About this Cook
I am an Army spouse and mommy first, but my day job is as an advocate for military families. I have been a military spouse for 9 years which has presented me with the opportunity to meet and eat with friends from all over the world. I love to eat and after having my second child decided that it was time for me to cook the things I loved to eat so much.
My favorite things to cook
My first love with cooking really started wih baking. I taught myself to bake cookies and cakes in middle school. I love to cook anything on the grill, I am still learning how to work a stove top and the oven to perfection so until then my grill is my best friend. When I do hit the stove top my favorite dishes are asparagus, green beans, and chicken Alfredo.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year my family gets together for thanksgiving and everyone down to the tiniest member has to contribute to the meal. There are several dishes that we have every year no matter what; fried turkey, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, and peach cobbler.
My cooking triumphs
I have been baking since I was in Jr. High, that is where I started my own little baking business. I would get up extra early and bake cookies to sell before class an if anyone was having a birthday they came to me for my triple decker chocolate cakes. I still get cake orders til this day.
My cooking tragedies
My oh my I don't even know where to begin. Let's just say that not all my meals are a raving success, but it's all in the name of learning. I will keep trying until I get it just right!

Restaurant Style Chicken Nachos
This recipe was a hit at our super bowl party. I loved how simple and easy it was to make. The only change that I made was to add taco seasoning to the chicken per a previous reviewer. Aside from that I kept it just the same and it was DELICIOUS!!
