I am 28 years old and just recently discovered that I have a gluten intolerance, so no wheat, rye, barley, or malt for me in my diet. I've been working on substitutions of old family favorites to exclude gluten and looking into new favorites as well. It's a long process and having fun with family and friends to accommodate my dietary needs.
My favorite things to cook
I really enjoy cooking comfort foods and favorites of my family and friends. However, even though I own a rolling pin I really do not like to use it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Clam Chowder at Christmas and I am still working on the Lemon Lush dessert that we have at every family get together. I am also working on gluten free Stuffing, it's a work in progress.
My cooking triumphs
I have successfully substituted white rice flour for white flour when making a rue.
My cooking tragedies
None that I am willing to admit at this time. ;)
