My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's traditional Sunday dinner was Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Chicken Crumb Gravy, Corn on the Cob, Sliced Tomatoes. My FAVORITE!
My cooking triumphs
I've found so many great recipes on this website and many have turned out wonderful. I'm pleased to have my family rave about them.
My cooking tragedies
Cream Puffs at age 15 - I cried! Chicken Fried Steak - I did something wrong somewhere! Salmon Patties once that tasted as if I dumped a couple of cups of salt in them. My newlywed husband ate a whole one to make me feel better.

Apple Crisp II
YUMMY! I just made this for the second time in two weeks. It's really great. And YES - use Granny Smith's and not a sweet apple. (Although I threw in a couple of Honey Crisp because I had them on hand.) I eased up on the sugar just a bit because it can be very sweet - but oh wow - it is so, so good. Not alot of work for an excellent ending. YUM!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat
This was good - not as great as I expected. The flavor was good, but I think I'll try it again with a different cut of meat because it was still a little tough. Tasty in tortillas.

Spinach Brownies
I made these twice in two days. Yes - they went that fast. I added mushrooms the second day and it was great also. I agree that it would be great with bacon. Endless possibilities. The first batch I added some sharp cheddar and I think I will continue to do that because it really gave it a stronger flavor. This will be one of my 'go-to' party recipes! Thanks!
