About this Cook
Well, my name is Sherry, but my two adorable grandkids call me Mema - isn't that cute! My daughter is my heart. She never understood that until she had her own kids...now she gets it! I have been married to a wonderful man for 20 years. There is not one minute of my life I would change or want to do over...I feel truly blessed and I thank God every morning for the day ahead of me.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake and I look forward to the holidays every year. If I make cookies or a cake, my husband tells me to "quit making this stuff" ...as he sits there stuffing his face!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I try out new recipes every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I spend weeks picking out the recipes and my only rule is that I can't try them out ahead of time. I know a lot of people think this is not a good idea during that special time of year, especially if you have a lot of people over, but to me it is more about the journey than the destination!
My cooking triumphs
Most of the time I do pretty good and not too many people complain. (See below for the reason not too many people complain about my cooking.)
My cooking tragedies
When I don't do so good and someone complains, I just don't cook for them anymore. That actually stops pretty much everyone from complaining!

Asian Chicken Salad
Amazing! Thanks for sharing. The only thing I did differently was to mix up the dressing and pour it over the shredded chicken and let it set overnight in the fridge. The next time I make this (which will be soon), I will still marinate overnight but I will drain off the chicken, reserving the marinade and serving it on the side rather than pour and toss because this salad seems to "shrivel" quickly but you can't beat the taste!!!!!! I did double the marinade and it seemed about the right amount.
