About this Cook
I am a 52-year-old woman who loves to cook and try new recipes. Unfortunately because I work full time I am unable to enjoy cooking as much as I would like.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with chicken, pasta or Italian
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am Polish and have fond memories of my mom and grandmother's polish dishes.
My cooking triumphs
I recently baked a blueberry pie which I hadn't made in years. It came out absolutely delicious.
My cooking tragedies
One day I was baking something in the oven and as I was removing the item, I dropped a steak knife with a wooden handle which went to the very bottom of the oven. because it was so hot I decided to let it cool and go back for it later. Well of course I forgot about it and the next time I turned the oven on I remembered all right my new GE oven was on fire and the entire house filled with smoke in a matter of minutes. I thought I was fortunate that my husband was home to help but as I was calling the fire department he proceded to distinguish the fire with water from the sink. Finally we realized that all we had to do was to turn the oven off. By that time the fire department was in my house with about 6 men. Luckily everything turned out fine and my house did not burn down but miraculously my new stove and oven survived. The moral of the story. 1) Never leave anything flamable in the bottom of your oven and 2) the GE profile stoves are excellent!!

Fabulous Foolproof Lasagna
This is an excellent and very quick way to make lasagna. I have very good luck with the no boil noodles. I would never go back to the old way of boiling them first. I also agree with the other readers that you definitely need more than 16 oz of sauce. I always use the large jar which I believe is the next size up from the 16 oz jar. I also mix the sausage and/or hamburg with the sauce and spread that way. however, I leave enough plain sause out so that I can cover the bottom of the pan and then top off the last layer of noodles with. I then top with a layer of grated cheese and for the last 5 mintues of cooking then layer with mozarella.

Blueberry Pie
I made this pie. It was so delicious. The best part. It was super easy, especially since I used the prepared crust. I would highly recommend this with Edy's low fat vanilla yogurt ice cream. Delicious.
