Creamy Mustard Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
Though the recipe was easy, I found it to be incredibly bland. I won't be making it again.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This was very easy to make and super quick. I can imagine this recipe for different types of fish, too. I didn't have celery salt so I used lemon pepper and thought it was perfectly delicious. I'll definitely be making this one again! Very economical.

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I was really impressed with this dish! The chicken came out exceptionally moist and tender and very flavorful. I went light on the salt because of the feta and bacon. I also dusted the outside of the chicken with some paprika and a little pepper. This was extremely delicious and surprisingly easy to make, considering how fancy and tasty it is.

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I wish I could give 4.5 stars, because it's not quite a 5 for me but not quite as low as a 4. It came out a little too sweet for my taste, so I added extra vinegar and mustard. I also doctored it up with about 2 teaspoons of garlic powder and a dash of ancho chile powder and plenty of salt and pepper. Next time, I'll reduce the sugar to just one tablespoon, increase the vinegar to 2 tablespoons and the mustard to 2 teaspoons. But this was a great, EASY, and cheap recipe for a homecooked meal where you don't want to shop for fancy ingredients.

Chicken Chili Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I made a few small modifications based on reviews and what I had on had, but WOW this chili was awesome! I used broth instead of water, crushed tomatoes instead of diced, and different beans (two cans of black beans, one can of kidney beans, one can of garbanzos). It was delicious, inexpensive, filling and easy. Has a really nice kick/spice to it. I'll be keeping this one. Thanks for sharing!

Viva Madrid Spanish Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
This was one of the single best recipes I've tried from All Recipes. I did not add the dates and substituted paprika for the chili powder to make it more authentically Spanish. SO DELICIOUS. I'll be making this one again and again. Thanks for sharing.

Kelsey's Favorite Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I think this is a good starting point recipe, but I made A LOT of changes: 1) I blanched the peppers first; 2) I browned the meat, then simmered it in vegetable stock with taco seasoning -- AWESOME flavor there; 3) I used spaghetti sauce instead of tomato soup; 4) I layered the ingredients -- cheese, stuffing, cheese, stuffing; 5) added a lot more salt and pepper throughout the cooking process.

Salmon with Mango and Brie

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I'm not sure how I feel about this recipe. The mango mix was delicious, and I love brie cheese. I followed previous suggestions to add some punch to the salmon with salt and pepper. It definitely would have been bland without it, in my opinion. In retrospect, the idea of cheese, even something like brie, just seems weird for fish.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This came out very flavorful and it was very easy! A couple of lessons learned: 1) I think this is definitely a beef-oriented marinade. I tried it on pork and the flavor was definitely "beef." 2) Don't salt the meat with this marinade. Came out wayyyyy too salty. I liked that I didn't have to marinade for very long (maybe 2 hours) to get a good flavor from this recipe.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This was pretty good, but I thought the potato mix itself came out pretty dry for me. I steamed the potatoes (a lot faster and more cost efficient than baking to soften). I tend to like a sweeter casserole. I think this would be a good compromise if you have a group of people with different tastes for sweetness.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
I did like this recipe, but it wasn't the ground-breaking meal that I was expecting based on reviews. That said, this was a VERY easy recipe and definitely good enough to whip up on a weeknight with ingredients I generally have on hand. I really liked that I didn't have to marinate the meat because I rarely plan that far ahead. I took someone else's suggested to season and dredge the chicken before sauteeing. But with the salty teriyaki sauce, I wish I wouldn't have salted the chicken beforehand. Next time, I think I'll be a little more generous with the ranch and cheese.

Dijon Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
These were great, definitely a keeper recipe and very easy to make. I used beer instead of apple juice. I broiled them instead of grilling. I also reduced the leftover sauce for a while on the stove and used it as a side dipping sauce. Delicious!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This recipe was AWESOME. I didn't change a thing. I used a really good, aged balsamic and tons of minced garlic. The smell of vinegar while it was cooking was pretty strong and we were afraid it would taste like cleaning fluid. But the chicken came out ultra tender and the sauce was incredible. My husband actually ate the leftover sauce by itself! I love that the ingredients were so simple and the only thing I ever really have to go out and buy are the mushrooms. This is definitely a keeper recipe.
