I love the city and all it's tastes. I work at a " green " boutique in NYC. I eat a New York Style bagel for breakfast every morning and I don't eat anything with lots of food coloring.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! I make lots of savory things; the catch: I love to use clashing flavors like potato and blackberry to make delicious things! I specialize in German and French food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Marinara! Anything! Growing up, my family cooked everything!
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecake. Oh, and Blackberry Mashed Potato. Maybe making the whipped Olive Oil Sauce. That's two tablespoons olive oil, one and a half tablespoons water, and four tablespoons of milk. It's used in many cultures as a thickener. My family uses it to make things more creamy. For that, I had to get oil and water to mix!
My cooking tragedies
Okay, I have to say, fried fruit is not my thing. I just can't get it to be just right. And trying to use that stuff you get the grill marks with. I'm like, " Seriously? I may not always get grill marks, but my food's always good!" And maybe the Balled Bread. It is these tiny, tiny, little balls of bread you dip in olive and then in butter and stick together. Never got it.
