My favorite things to cook
I am a grillmeister. Anything from burgers and brats on the grill to smoking a pork shoulder for 12 hours over hickory wood. Also quite handy with a saute pan, whisk, and a good set of knives. My beef jerky (made from London broil) has some true addicts who will beg and plead until they get more.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fondue (beef or Swiss cheese) or Raclette for special occasions.
My cooking triumphs
Rolled and stuffed pork loin roast. Has surpassed stack and spinach pinwheels as my "WOW" dish.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to improvise a Caesar salad dressing without egg (for a dinner party)... used champagne vinegar *and* lemon juice. I should have used one or the other, but not both! I squint just thinking about how sour it was!
