This was an Easter cake made for my parents, the cake is from-scratch, multi-coloured vanilla with fresh berries mixed into their coinciding colour topped with royal icing grass, marshmallow fondant flowers and of course a great big peanut butter egg!
I've been using this peanut butter egg recipe for years, I originally saw it on the Carebears as a small child! When I saw this recipe with the idea of shaping the peanut butter mixture into egg shapes a light bulb went off! To use the peanut butter egg recipe as a cake topping decoration, simply make half an egg and pour the melted chocolate over it, smoothing it with a knife or small rubber spatula. Try making different shapes for year round decorating fun!
