About this Cook
Hi there! My name is Olivia and I'm currently living in California with my fiance. I've enjoyed cooking since I was a little girl where I would sit and watch either my father or my grandmother work their ways around the kitchen. I'm thinking about taking the next step to making what I love to do a career! Wish me luck=)
My favorite things to cook
I don't really have a favorite. My boyfriend always wants me to make my sticky fried rice, or my spicy tacos, a favorite for him. I enjoy trying out new recipes and tweeking them once I've tried the original, to my likeness. Being able to recreate a recipe and see others enjoy it always puts a smile on my face=)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Some of my favorite family cooking traditions would be chicken adobo, pigs ear kilawin, seafood pansit, beef tapa and lumpias (I'm half Filipino). As for the other side of me (Mexican and Pennsylvanian Dutch) my favorites would have to be sopas, green enchiladas, carnitas, and my grandmother's famous califlower patties... yum!!!
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs... I would have to say my sticky fried rice, my spicy tacos, my shitake mushroom and pork stirfry, my pork and shrimp lumpias, my chunky corn chowder, my spicy adobo shrimp with cilantro rice, and my famous sweet deviled eggs. mmm... I'm making myself hungry=)
My cooking tragedies
Cooking tragedies... eggs benedict... lol the eggs came out horrible the very first time I tried it out!!! I also tried making a cream sauce and didn't have any whipping cream so I tried substituting coffee creamer... yuck!!! I had to throw that out... I'll never try something like that again!!!!

It's Chili by George!!
WOW!!! sooo delicious! I had to tweek the ingredients according to what i had on me... I used 1 lb ground beef & 1 lb ground spicy sausage, 2 cans of tomato sauce, 2 jalapenos diced, and lots of cayenne pepper! my fiance is still raving about it! thanks for sharing=)

Easy Fried Eggplant
sOoOo great!!! when I usually make these, I double dip the eggplant. First I dip in the egg, then dip in flour & black pepper, dip again in egg, and then finally dip into bread crumbs. For some reason when I "double dip" the egg plant it comes out even better!

Creamy Chicken Risotto
yummy!!!! even my pickiest eater devoured this! I also used boullion instead of chicken broth a and flavored the chicken with black pepper, red chili flakes, and season salt! It came out perfect and I will definetly be making this again in the near future!!! thanks for sharing=)
