Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
As a family we are now addicted to these Crinkles! We are Australian and haven't ever come across anything like this before. First of all I'd thought to practice them with a view to having them as a Christmas treat....good idea. Have made them once a week for three weeks now and there is no sign of the requests letting up. Thank you for sharing this amazing treat Ingrid. Carol.

Smothered Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Delicious! Used the plain yogurt instead of sour cream - all I had on hand. Didn't have any soup either !! used a couple of spoonfulls of a powdered base for 'apricot and chicken casserole' so the liquid came only from the yoghurt. Used a slice of dark rye bread underneath the chicken to soak up the wonderful juice, served with green beans. My husband is on his second helping already. Highly recommended.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Wonderful flavour, easy to follow recipe. Did use 1/2 cup of butter to replace 1/2 cup of oil, everything else as stated OOPS! no I baked fresh pumpkin for the puree. Highly recommended! Since the above review I have made the recipe many times as muffins. Revisiting my daughter this week I found a few of the muffins left for over a week covered on the kitchen bench and the children still enjoying them after school. I ate one just to be sure and yes they are a little less moist but still delicious and obviously keep extremely well.

Jazzy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
Delicious way with vegies. Cooked frozen beans then added 2 'cup'a'soup' packets (pumpkin) to the beans and the water they were cooked in. Used lite cheese as that was all I had on hand some cheddar and some mozerella mixed in sauted onion. Pretty much what was on hand all mixed in very tasty.

Lemon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
Making these I was back in my Nanna's kitchen as she creamed by hand the butter and sugar to make the lightest most delicious cup cakes. Was tempted to half the butter as suggested..it was for a special occasion with a sensational result. Did add the extra lemon juice and rind and am thinking next time to maybe add a little more. Love the recipe. At last cup cakes like Nanna made. Can you picture your Nanna bowl in the crook of her elbow creaming the butter and sugar with the heat of her hand? Not acceptable these days and yet we weren't ever ill. Carol.

Can't Tell They're Low-fat Brownies

Made these exactly to the recipe and we have enjoyed them very much. Didn't go to the effort of cutting them into 24... sort of defeats the low cal. Plan to be stronger next time. There will be many more 'next time's . Carol

Busy Day Chicken

I had skinless chicken thigh fillets on hand so used those in place of a whole chicken. Cooked for 6.5 hours before turning off cooker. Really haven't ever had an easier delicious dinner. Going into the family favourite file. Thank you for sharing. Carol.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Sensational! The temperature outside is just above freezing a perfect recipe for a cosy night at home. Made as listed with even my husband who is not usually in favour of very tasty food forcing himself not to lick his plate after two servings. A winner! Thank you. Carol

Sweet Dinner Rolls

How lucky was I to choose to make this recipe as my introduction to the site. It was a delicious success so much so that I've made it twice in one week. It wonderful to use yeast and to bake something as popular as these rolls are. Thank you. Carol
