i have been cooking for a couple of years, but mostly the same few things over and over as i have mostly been cooking for myself. i think it's time to expand my cooking horizons haha :P
My favorite things to cook
mostly i cook stir fry. quick, easy and healthy, and i can make a bunch at once and live off the leftovers for almost a week.
sometimes i cook chicken strips, quesadillas, or baked chicken.
here and there i toss together a mean salad.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my mom makes the best food. my dad's mom makes the second best. my aunt (now deceased) made the best southern barbecue sauce.
My cooking triumphs
in january i baked a whole turkey... i was really proud of myself because i didn't think i could do it. it wasn't the BEST ever, but i was fairly juicy on the inside and crispy on i'd call that a triumph! (i am 22 and just recently moved out from my mom's a year ago.)
My cooking tragedies
not too many of those... probably because i don't try many new things and when i make something for the first time i tend to follow a recipe EXACTLY. i did make a really horrible impromptu queso when i was about 18 and some really aweful pancakes for my little brother when i was about 13-14. we fed them to the neighbor's dog haha
