I've been in Colorado for 25 years I am a RN who works 3 12 hours shifts a week. I am married and have 2 daughters 2 stepsons and 6 grandkids. My youngest daughter and her 3 kids live with us. I love to cook and "share"my goodies with family and co-workers
My favorite things to cook
slow cooking is a lifesaver with my schedule, but in the summer we have a huge garden and fruit trees so I make jelly, jam and can the bounty from the garden. tons of work ...but very satisfying. I give homemade jellies and jams away for Holiday gifts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. I love to host them and our kids usually all come home if able for the Holidays.
My cooking triumphs
I am really good at cooking wild game...my husband is the "great white hunter" SO I have been challenged more than once making a tough piece of game taste good.
My cooking tragedies
In my early years and up until my mother passed away(94 y.o.) just a year ago, I would call her for her help with certain foods she made. One year as a young bride I called her about how to roast a Turkey , I misunderstood her about how much water to put in the bottom of the roasting pan and my Turkey was lilterally floating. My kids still rib me about that one. LOL
