I was looking at "submit a recipe" and I saw the recipes they are looking for (Latin is right up my alley!).I also scrolled down to the bottom of the page and saw "Did Your Recipe Make the Site?"  What does mean?Do they publish all submitted recipes or just certain ones that they are… MORE

About this Cook
I live on a farm with my husband. We have a few cows and lots of chickens. I make it a habit as well as a point to learn something new each year in more than one area. I am usually self taught. Last year I learned to quilt. This year I will learn a new pattern. As for gardening, I like to plant at least one new thing each year. This year, onions and garlic. We love to travel and will be going on our first cruise next year. I can't wait I am so excited. I love to collect recipes and always try new things. Life gets pretty boring if you don't try and just stick to the same old things all the time.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Mexican food. I think that is the best food in the world. As long as I can substitute mild for hot I am good. Always willing to try a new dish. I also found that I like to marinate meat. Bill; my husband does all the grilling.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Each year we host the July party at our place. We figure out a theme for the party and go from there. We don't care what the food is as long as it's good. This year fried chicken and my best potato salad. On all get-together's my family usually has me make the most of the food but now I go to them and help them to make the food.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to preserve our garden harvest and making jams and jellies. I am still learning to make the jams and jellies. Last year I tried canning chicken. Would have turned out better had I used younger (much younger) birds.
My cooking tragedies
When a recipe does not come out right and you have a house full of guests. I have done this a few times but usually can figure out what the problem was and try not to do it again the next time.

Simple Salisbury Steaks
Tried this recipe and the flavor of the meat patties was great. Just what I would expect in a Salisbury steak. Problem was they fell apart. I would leave out the egg and add more bread crumbs. If you are doing this recipe "as is" first then make sure that the meat mixture isn't too wet. I added milk to the soup to make the gravy so that the mushrooms would cook. Husband liked this recipe so it's a keeper. Thank you for posting.

Johnny Marzetti Casserole
I made this casserole and found it to be very easy to put together. The taste was good but somewhat bland. It seemed to us to be more like a different way to make spaghetti. I will be making this dish again but will be trying other ingredients and stepping up on others. Thank you for posting.
