Teriyaki Chicken for the Busy Cook

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This was really delicous. I used 2 pounds of chicken, a 20oz. bottle of orange soda and a bottle of teriyaki sauce (lower sodium) and cooked it on high for 5 hours in my slow cooker. I made fried rice with some of the excess liquid.

I don't use onion or the corn flakes, but this is the best combination I've found for these potatoes!

I used this as a base, but it came out delicious! Add crumbled bacon to the top!!!

Not as cheesy as I like, but that's an easy fix.

Snickerdoodles III

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
The dough was really hard to get into balls for me, it wasn't quite sticky enough, so I added a little water. They didn't taste quite right to me; they were still good, but not really my thing.

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
I couldn't get my cheddar to melt completely, but this was still delicious! It was not very creamy because of the cheese problem, a little dry. However, I used crushed Rice Krispies on the top (didn't fry in the pan) and it made this so good!! It's also really good reheated!

Fluffy Two Step Cheesecake I

This was a really good frozen dessert. I served it drizzled in caramel or plain and it was fabulous. My 2-year old really liked it, too!

JELL-O Magic Mousse

It's hard to go wrong with Jell-o and Cool Whip! I used 2 1/2 cups of boiling water instead of 3 to get a thicker texture. It tasted and looked great, but I wish I would have grabbed another container of Cool Whip to have some on the top of it!

Cheesy Potatoes II

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
This was my first time making these with Velveeta and I'm not very impressed. I've used many different kids of "cream of..." soups, and they've all turned out really great with just regular shredded cheese, but this makes it so all you taste it the cheese!

I made these with chocolate chips and added a few marshmallows for a s'mores treat. They were pretty good, but I don't know that I will make them again.

My grandfather started making these one Christmas for the family, and I have been the one to carry on the tradition! We make these with chocolate almond bark and I probably eat an entire batch by myself over the season...SO DELICIOUS!!

After reboiling, these completely fell apart and I was left with potato mush. I may try this again, but I don't know for sure. It was quite discouraging, might try finding a new recipe.

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
These came out great! I've never made a shortbread-type cookie, and this was a great introduction. I made both strawberry (jam) and blueberry (preserves w/splenda) middles. I highly suggest you use preserves when making these - the flavor is so much better!

I love these potatoes!!!! I used cream of mushroom soup this time, but I might try cheddar soup next time since the people I'm serving don't really care for mushrooms! Isn't is great when you find these things out after you cook for them??

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
This was very good! I have a family of three so I made two smaller dishes - one is frozen. I did not use a 3.9 pudding mix, instead I went for the larger size of 5 oz. just to give it more chocolate flavoring. The brownies I baked and then sent directly into the fridge and they were nice and cakey for us! I will definately be making this again!

Grandmother's Pork Chop Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
This was a good "starter" recipe, but it definately needs something more. My family and I both agreed that making gravy for it would have been better, and next time we will do without the bacon cooked into the whole dish and actually crisp it and then put it on top instead (we do not like bacon if it's not crispy!). The only variations that I made while creating this dish were I used turkey bacon and onion powder (due to texture preferences).

Sauteed Apples

These were really good. The apples came out perfectly cooked and were served with "Grandmother's Pork Chop Dinner" from this site. A great combo as the sweet balanced out the savory.
