Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Mix

This turned out beautifully as a gift for my boyfriend's mother. 4 stars because she hasn't made them yet! If they taste great too then I'll add the 5th! One "hint" however. Make sure you pack down all of the ingredients, otherwise they won't fit in the jar!!!

Potato Latkes I

I was looking for a recipie that was similar to the one my dad always made us as kids and this may just have been the same exact thing! Absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend and ALL of my uber-jewish friends thought they were great! Followed the recipe to a "t" and wouldn't change a thing!

Taco Soup I

I was kind of disappointed with this recipe. It had very little flavor even after adding an entire packet of taco seasoning. I followed the recipe to a "T" besides the seasoning. I think next time if I make it again I will add MUCH more spice and seasoning to give it some piazzas. Otherwise the idea is very good.

Mexi-Italian Salsa

Oh my goodness this may be the most fantastic recipe I have ever encountered! I served this at a appetizer party with toasted french bread and everyone RAVED about it! This is one of the best recipes ever. I followed it to a "T" and couldn't ask for anything better! Thanks so much!!!

Bear's Picnic Veggie Dip

I wasn't really sure how this would turn out as at the time I made this recipe there were only 4 reviews of it. I made it exactly according to what was posted. At first taste I was incredibly disappointed, however after letting the dip sit in my fridge for about a 45 minutes, I was amazed at how fantastically the flavors seeped into each-other. I don't think that I would change anything. My advice to anyone making this dip is to make it a day or even a few hours in advance to allow it to really bring out its wonderful flavors. Thanks for such a simple and tasty recipe!

Banana Oat Bars

This was a good recipie. I made it exactly as the recipie called, and the flavor was out of this world. My only complaint is that the bars never got hard. Next time I think I'll follow the ideas of the other reviewers and add a little bit of flour and a whole egg instead of 2 egg whites. Regardless, I will be making this easy recipie again!

Crunchy Apple Bread

This is a FANTASTIC bread recipie. Incredibly flavorful and tasty. Made it for work and the entire office adored it. I followed the recipie to a "T!" The only problem I had was that instead of baking it in one loaf pan I baked it in 4 mini-loaf pans and unfortunatly overbaked it a little bit. So if you bake this in mini-loaf pans make sure you DONT bake it for more than 30 minutes!!!! SO, as that was my own fault, this recipie gets 5 stars plus some!

Crab Cakes II

Absolutely fabulous! I was a bit skeptical because we used Starkist Chunked Crab Meat in stead of the expensive stuff, however these crab cakes tasted EXACTLY like they came from a restaurant! Thanks so much for such a phenomenal recipe!

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Great soup, especially with a little bit extra salsa in it. Served it with a dollop of sour cream on top. Be careful though, even the slightest bit extra of the cumin will drown out all of the other delicate flavors of this soup!

Buffalo Chicken Chili

This soup was incredibly interesting and tasty. Firstly, I tripled the hot sauce and added approx. 1tsp. cayenne pepper (I'm a spicy person!) At first when I tasted it before it had simmered for few hours I was incredibly skeptical. It tasted ENTIRELY too salty. However, after those few hours that it simmered, I served it topped with shredded cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream and it was delectable! Great recipe!

Chicken Pot Pie VI

This recipe was AMAZING! I've never made chicken pot pie before, only eaten it. I was a bit skeptical about the cheese, but you honestly had no idea it was there once the whole thing was baked! Also, instead of using a homemade pie dough, I bought two rolls of Pillsbury flaky refrigerated biscuits and flattened them out, one can for the bottom and sides of the dish, and another for the top! It was fabulous!

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Wonderful late night fall-time snack! I didn't have any brown sugar so I used 1/2 cup white sugar along with close to 1/4 cup Maple Syrup. It was NOT too sweet this way! Just perfect! I made a crunchy strudel-type top to make the top crunchy! (1/4 stick soft butter, few shakes cinnamon, enough oatmeal to make it crumbly when mixed with a fork!) The only thing that I would like differently about this recipie was if it were a bit more crunchy, but that's personal preference!

Absolutely The Best Shrimp Scampi

Truly a wonderful recipe! Instead of flaming the liquors, we just added it to the sautéing garlic/shallot etc. mix. Also, we put it over angel hair pasta with a tiny bit of extra olive oil poured on top. Superb!

Grilled Chicken and Portobello Lasagna Rollups

This was really tasty! My boyfriend and I absolutley LOVED it! A few tips to share: #1 If you cook the noodles ahead of time, place them separately on top of wet paper towels to prevent them from drying out. #2 Cook the spinach and mushroom mix in white wine. It really adds a bit of great flavor #3 I thought it could use a little bit more ricotta and spinach. This is just personal taste, however, as I LOVE lasagna filling! #4 make sure the chicken is cut up really small to make it easier to eat as well as easier to roll up!! Great recipe!

Apple Raisin Coffee Cake

After reading all of the promising reviews of this cake I was incredibly excited to make it for an office party! However, it was a completely disaster! I followed the directions to the "T" and not only didn't it have ANY flavor, but after a clean toothpick test, (which USUALLY means the cake is done) the cake was half raw and collapsed upon taking it out of the pan. I was incredibly excited for this cake and if it had had a better flavor even half baked I would have tried it again, it really lacked flavor. Needless to say I won't be making this one again!

Apple Cream Coffee Cake

So I started making this wonderful cake and discovered that I didn't' have 2 eggs! Instead for one of the eggs (though I suppose this could be for both) I used 2 Tbsp flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 2 Tbsp apple sauce. THEN I realized that I only had 1/2 cup sour cream!!! So for the other half cup I used 1 Tbsp vinegar and the rest of the half cup heavy cream. In the end this turned out UNBELIEVABLY tasty! Everyone at work asked for the recipe! One thing I will do next time though is to increase the # of apples and nuts!!

This was a tasty recipie. As did many other reviewers, I added 1 tsp. old bay seasoning. It was wonderful, however I couldn't taste the shrimp very well. Since I prefera slightly more seafood-ie taste, next time I will add a bit more shrimp!
