I'm a 23 year old beginning cook. I graduated from Loras College (Dubuque, Iowa) last year, and moved to Bogota, Colombia for this year to teach English to second graders. I've been here for a little over 9 months and will be home to Illinois in July. I didn't really cook throughout college (with the exception of pasta, boxed dinners, mac and cheese and the like), but now that I'm living alone with no one to see me make mistakes, I have become much more adventurous with my cooking. I found allrecipes and look for new recipes daily! stir fry, casseroles, chicken, rice, tacos, and anything new My dad's Sunday morning breakfasts: pancakes, creamed chipped beef, french toast, and his famous turkey surprise dinner (the surprise is that it's ham)! Also, making Christmas cookies with my mom. Eating holiday dinners with the whole extended family, especially our cultural mixture of pierogis and lasagna :) Anything new that I cook that ends up tasting better than expected! Nothing too big...yet!
