Bread Machine Bagels
my first experience with bagels. i made them the night before, (no extra water needed for my machine), formed them (8 in all)and left them in the fridge overnight. in the morning i took them from the fridge and put them on the counter to warm while the water boiled. i boiled 2 at a time (i was afraid i couldn't handle more than that). most boiled for 30 seconds on each side except, the 2 i forgot about, which got a min. on each side. i baked them for 25 min. on parchment paper. all in all they were great. the slightly longer boiled ones were a bit more chewy. the kids , my two 7 and 9 and a guest as well, loved them and there are a couple left for when the hubby gets up. the labor was marginal just a lot of waiting for the bread machine. no more store bagels or brugger's for me! i wish i had made more to freeze!!!
