It depends on the season! In the summer, I love quick and easy meals; in the winter, home-cooked meals that take all day suddenly seem worth the effort. Holiday baking...I always remember making a bunch of different kinds of cookies: sugar, gingerbread, candy cane... Homemade lasagne - featuring homemade pasta noodles, fresh from the speciality Italian deli ricotta cheese, and homemade marinara sauce! When I was about 12, I attempted to make caramel corn in the microwave. I used a tan colored plastic bowl to make the caramel - and was delighted to see how fast the sugar turned into caramel... except it wasn't just caramel! The ingredients were hot enough to melt the plastic, which I didn't notice until I had stirred my way to a hole in the bottom of the bowl.
