About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
It depends on the season! In the summer, I love quick and easy meals; in the winter, home-cooked meals that take all day suddenly seem worth the effort.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday baking...I always remember making a bunch of different kinds of cookies: sugar, gingerbread, candy cane...
My cooking triumphs
Homemade lasagne - featuring homemade pasta noodles, fresh from the speciality Italian deli ricotta cheese, and homemade marinara sauce!
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 12, I attempted to make caramel corn in the microwave. I used a tan colored plastic bowl to make the caramel - and was delighted to see how fast the sugar turned into caramel... except it wasn't just caramel! The ingredients were hot enough to melt the plastic, which I didn't notice until I had stirred my way to a hole in the bottom of the bowl.

Coffeebar Chai
I followed the suggestions of one of the commenters, SKIDZ7 to create the dairy-free concentrate. I used Celestial Seasoning's Morning Thunder tea and orange blossom honey. To drink, I mixed equal amounts of the tea mixture and milk... I cant believe an entire box of Celestial Seasonings tea cost less than a large chai at Starbucks ... and the homemade version tastes better! (Would have ranked it a five, but the additional steps suggested by SKIDZ7 are essential!)
