My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything. Steaks and seafood are probably my favorite but I also like to go global. Thai and Russian\Eastern European are probably my favorite non-American cuisines.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandparents came to Canada after being Germans living in Russia so I was exposed to all sorts of food growing up. Borsch is one of my favorite foods and I love making it.
My cooking triumphs
Any meal cooked to what I think is perfection is a triumph for me. The steak au poivre recipe I have posted has been the most common reason for me to close my eyes and just think "oh man this is good."
My cooking tragedies
There have been many. You can't get better if you don't know what to avoid, right? Too many burned garlic stories to mention. Don't burn your garlic!
