I am a 20-year-old wife and mother of one. I learned to cook from my grandmother, who savors down-home Southern cooking. I love baking and I especially love making buttermilk pies. As easy as they may be, they go quick in our house because my husband scarfs them down when I make them. All of the women in our family always cook their staple recipes for holidays. It's always the same menu, but it's always so good! When my husband told me that my homemade chicken strips, mashed potatoes and green beans were better than his momma's. I once forgot to put the shortening in a batch of brownies I was making. My poor husband had to clean up the mess because I was sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor, crying, because I couldn't figure out what I did wrong.
