Sarah's Knish

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
The filling was amazing. That being said, I've talked with my fully raised Jewish grandmother and more than a few devout Jews who keep kosher and they've all agreed that the casing is all wrong. I'd suggest using a casing more flaky/buttery with club soda and margarine for a more savory and delicious taste. This casing will only taste good with intense meat flavors, imo.

Simple Creamy Lemon Chicken Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
It was strange, because as I was cooking this recipe I was tasting frequently. Each taste I thought, "Wow what a miss." and after a while I even disliked the test tasting because alone it was so horrible. But when I served it over some simple baked chicken sprinkled with lemon pepper, it was AMAZING. My entire family ate up every last bite. Next time I plan to try it with fish. A very surprising hit that I will for sure add to my list!

Baby Spinach Omelet

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This was a simple and tasty breakfast for one! I used four egg whites instead of two eggs and used a cup and a half of fresh baby spinach because I'm a big green fan ;} Couldn't find the nutmeg (tragic because I was excited to taste the different flavor it would have given an omelet) so instead I used an Italian season grinder. Mmm!

Ranch Crispy Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
This was a very quick and easy dinner and gave otherwise bland chicken a very strong taste. (We like strong tastes in our house so we don't mind the extra salty taste from the ranch) I change one thing every time however, and that's coating the chicken with egg whites before shaking it in the ranch and breadcrumb mixture. It helps it stick and also gives the chicken and bread a little kick while helping it stay moist. Other things that I've mixed in with the ranch and breadcrumbs are (not all at once of course): ~Chili powder~ ~Garlic seasoning~ ~Italian seasoning~. Also another way to add extra personality is to use flavored breadcrumbs like garlic or italian. No matter what I do to this recipe it still tastes great.

Pineapple Angel Food Cake I

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
I added some extreme changes to this recipe. Instead of angel food I used boxed cherry chip, mixed in a half a cup of pineapple juice and crushed pineapples and shredded sweetened coconut into the batter. When it was done I spread a layer of crushed pineapples and coconut between then two, then frosted it with cool whip and decorated with more coconut, pineapples, and cherries cut in half. It looked beautiful and everyone was pretty satisfied with it. Definatly would make again, especially for any school cake walks or events.

Tequila Shrimp

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
This came out very nice. I substituted mexican beer and only used a bit of tequila, as I don't like the tequila flavor too much. It wasn't too strong, and everyone loved it. I served it with Mexican Rice III.

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
I loved this. It was easy and simple to make! I used two tablespoons of minced garlic instead of a fresh clove, and canned chopped green chilis instead of jalapenos and tomatos (im not a fan of either). The chili cooked nicely with the rest of the rice and blended all the flavors together. I served this rice alongside the Tequila shrimp with avocado wedges and everyone raved about how great it was.
