I'm a full time mother, student and leader. I LOVE cooking, mainly because I'm an "instant results" type-girl. Cooking has always been a thing of tradition and memories; I love creating those feelings every day.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking with foods that I'm not familiar with or would have never thought to cook with, especially strange veggies that turn out to be spectacular! I also enjoy cooking ethnic meals; the first time I created Red Beans and Rice like my daughter's Puerto Rican grandmother used to make, I was hooked!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's seafood salad in the summer, corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day, Chili on rainy Sundays and the smell of cookies in the oven.
My cooking triumphs
I am triumphant every time my boyfriend takes a bite of my cooking and says, "Babe, this is amazing!" I aim to please!
My cooking tragedies
I'm not very creative when I cook and in fact, I'm "By-the-book Betty" when it comes to cooking. If I don't have a recipe to follow and point me in the right direction, my creation is usually a failure. My boyfriend wonders why I don't just "throw things together." It's not as easy as it sounds! =)
