About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love recipes! Usually main dish meals, salads, casseroles. I like food with lots of flavors and textures.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My love of cooking comes from my Grandma. Her chocolate chip cookies, pound cake and mashed potatoes bring back great memories. She didn't let me help a lot (I'd make a mess) but I sure watched and absorbed what she did.
My cooking triumphs
I made my own birthday cake from Death by Chocolate. 3 layers, ganache, mousse, the works. It was a little lopsided but otherwise "to die for".
My cooking tragedies
Most recently Christmas Candy. I used 2 oz more evap milk than called for--figured I'd get rid of it. The candy never set, I of course doubled the recipe--so I had a big expensive pile of goo.

Greek Spaghetti II
This was pretty good. I added garlic as was suggested in another post and also added shrimp. I topped it with goat cheese. Yum! Hubby liked it and asked for seconds, a true sign of his sincerity.

Almond Chocolate Biscotti
These were super easy and came out great! I'm going to try different varieties today.

Ham Breakfast Braid
Visually this was gorgeous. It was tasty but overall a little boring, needed something. Next time I'll review other suggestions to give it a kick.
