I am 27, mother of two extremely picky eater, ages 7 and 5 and a new bride. I can cook a few things, and those few things, I can make REALLY good, but I don't get the opportunity to really try my hands in the kitchen. I am looking to change that though, because I have to learn a whole new style of cooking so I can make some healthier changes for myself and my family. Lasagna, Swedish Meatballs, Smothered Pork Chops, Muffins, Spaghetti, My Thanksgiving turkey, 1999. My boyfriend and I had absolutely no idea what we were doing. We didn't even get the turkey out to thaw until the day before Thanksgiving. We just poured some water in the pan, and rubbed it in butter every hour all night, and then baked it for 3 1/2 hours and it turned out to be the very BEST turkey that I had ever had in my whole life. Apparently everyone else liked it quite a bit too because after the other 20 people got their plates, there was just a little bit left for me. Haven't been able to replicate that turkey. Also, I have a problem overcooking my pasta sometimes. My sauce is usually absolutely out-of-this-world, but the pasta just makes the dish inedible.
