I was forced to learn how to cook when I lived in a punk house in Tulsa, OK and had to make dinner for 4 boys in exchange for rent.
My favorite things to cook
Soul food, traditional Mexican, Chinese, Caribbean, vegetarian, desserts, sushi. I also love picking out the most unique foods I've never heard of from the international farmer's markets and using my bible (Vegetables from Amaranth to Zucchini by Elizabeth Schneider) to fix them up.

I make the dressing with my grandmother every Thanksgiving

Once I made 2 dozen cinnamon rolls from scratch for a bake sale

I've ruined quite a few pots because I'm really good at walking away from the stove, especially when cooking rice.
