About this Cook
At present I am 53, single (widowed) and quick work to stay home to care for my elderly Mom who has dementia. I am going to college online through Axia of University of Phoenix for a degree in Healthcare Management. I love to do counted cross stitch, read and write as well as Bible study on various subjects including the Jewish traditions and recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to fix casseroles, mexican food, italian and love to experiment every once in awhile with something new. I have learned to make a multibean soup thanks to a friend of the family in GA and it is good. I also love beef and love to fix a roast with potatoes and other veggies cooked with it and make gravy out of the left over juice. I am a bit tired of chicken but can cook a mean chicken meal as well as pork chops.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At Christmas we have started a new tradition of either fixing a western style meal of ribs, potato salad, baked beans along with the traditional pies and deserts. At Thanksgiving we started fixing a baked hen instead of turkey since I absolutely cannot stand turkey, but will eat it once in awhile.
My cooking triumphs
My ranch style roast fixed in a dutch oven with beans etc and cooked in the oven. It is delicious.
My cooking tragedies
I have had my share.
