About this Cook
Newly married and getting my knack for the kitchen. Love to cook but hate the grocery store!
My favorite things to cook
My mother's spaghetti pie-- its to die for! And anything new; I am learning a lot and I enjoy trying new things, especially seafood which is a must in the South!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Now that my grandmother is having a harder time in the kitchen, all of the women in the family get together and cook in grandma's kitchen for holiday meals. Its a great bonding experience, and we all get to learn from each other. And, we can make her sit back and relax while still joining in on the fun!
My cooking triumphs
I made venison chili for an oyster roast, and it was awesome... most people couldn't even tell that it was venison, including those die hard anti-venison eaters!
My cooking tragedies
Veggie Lasagna- my husband said "Maybe you should have tried regular lasagna before you jumped into this one!"-- and I definitely agreed!

Crabby Cream Cheese Wontons
Awesome recipe, much better than my favorite Chinese restaurant! And, the filling is a great start to a wonderful crab dip! My only issue was finding the wonton wrappers at my store, they are in the produce section near the organic and pre-chopped veggies for those of you with the same problem!

Best Green Bean Casserole
This is a great recipe, and so easy! I served it for a family dinner, and it will definitely be on the table again at the holidays. I found it unnecessary to microwave the ingredients first. And, I used at least 2 cups of cheese-- the more cheese the better in my book. This one is a keeper!

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo
This is an awesome recipe! My husband usually doesn't like any alfredo claiming a lack in taste, but he loved this one! The only changes I made was I substituted a can of sliced mushrooms (chopped) for the portobellos, and used a mix of parmesan and romano, and it all turned out great. This is definitely a new favorite- so much flavor you can't pass it up!
