My children all bring amazing significant others to our family. My husband, Mike and I are empty nesters excpet for our 4 pups. (We've replaced kids with pups!) My daughter, Stephanie, and her husband Jon are expecting our first grandchild! Mike and I are always together. He's my bestfriend! I read like a crazy person. I blog at : http://robinrane.wordpress.com/ I love sewing, decorating, cooking, antiquing... I love cooking for our big family get-togethers. We have 27 or so family members over for several big events during the year. They love my mac and cheese and hearty baked beans. I love making seasonal desserts too. Butterscotch Apple Crisp in the fall, Italian Cream Cake at Christmas...I make big "Tons-of-Chips" cookies, Oatmeal Cookies, and various shapes of Iced Sugar Cookies according to the holiday! When my kids were itty bitty, we made caramel apples every October. In December, we had a day of making Christmas Cookies that we hung on the tree.(such great pictures of my flour covered babies sitting all over the counter top!). On Thanksgiving, my girls have always helped me cook. One year when they were 12,10,and 8, I let them make a Thanksgiving dinner all by themselves! They did great and are great cooks to this day! I consider it a victory when I successfully cook for 25-30 people and they love all the food! Cooking for me, is tied in with decorating for the event and making the food look beautiful. I love all the planning and preparing of entertaining my family! I'll be honest...I burn the bread EVERY time I cook!!!
