About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was 9 ( I'm 33 )and have always loved it. My mom got me started on the easy meals that made lots because we had to. As I got older my Aunts southern cooking was a huge inspiration. I love good southern food sans the greens.Cooking has always been a good way for me to relax and I have been told I am good at it. I wanted to be a chef when I grew up but to many food allergies kept me away. So now I cook for the fun and I love to try new things.
My favorite things to cook
stuffed pork loin, pumpkin pie, Snikerdoodles ( real Ones ) and Asian foods. My Husband likes me to cook Mexican and the kids love the homemade mac n cheese and tuna casseroles
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting together with my best friend Kim and baking at Christmas time. My Mom making fried Chicken with potatoes and gravy and trying very hard to teach me the subtleties of it. ( I still can't fry chicken like that )
My cooking triumphs
Crispy roasted Duck for Winter Solstice, I had never tried to cook a duck and I was afraid that it wouldn't turn out but it was wonderful. My homemade pumpkin pie is my own recipe I made up when I was 13. I took a recipe out of my moms book and made substitutions and changes till it was no longer recognizable . Every year that is the one thing that is always left for me to make. My family and friends expect it and I try not to let them down.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 9 my mom asked my sister and I to make Meatloaf for dinner . She said the crackers were in the cabinet and told us how to put it together. Well unfortunately we couldn't find the ritz crackers or even saltines so we used graham crackers. Mom got home and we all sat down to dinner. I remember my Dad got a huge piece and was slowly eating it and not saying anything. I think he had half his gone by the time mom tried it. It was the most disgusting thing I think I ever tried. My mom was telling my dad not to eat it and me and my sister were crying because it was so gross and my dad was trying so hard to eat it so us girls wouldn't feel bad. That was last time I EVER put crackers in a meatloaf. My poor Dad .

Super Easy Seared Ahi Tuna
Even my husband liked this recipe. He has asked that I make it again. The oil smoked alot but that was just because Olive has a lower smoke point. All in all it was a great recipe and I will make it again and again. ~ Thanks for sharing

Clone of a Cinnabon
everybody who has ever had these when I have made them LOVES them. My 12 year old daughter makes these and we have never had any problems or complaints. I do use a whipped cream cheese frosting tho as we like it better.
