this was very good, nice consistency and good flavor. I made a few changes based on what I had on hand...omitted the green onions, used 5 slices of bacon and used yellow and big boy tomatoes (seeded.) I used a smoked cheddar, but would like to try it with gruyere. I was able to fit it in one deep dish pie plate and it cooked in the same amount of time.

I was very happy with the way these turned out. My husband is always worried pork will be dry and these were moist and flavorful. I had thick pork chops so I butterflied them prior to marinating (for about 3 hours) and grilled for a total of 15 minutes. I used about a teaspoon of fresh oregano instead of dried.

I was really happy with the way this turned out, especially considering I forgot the vanilla! I made it for my mom's birthday (she grew up in Puerto Rico and knows about good flan!) and she really enjoyed it. Two notes that make me wish I had read more reviews before I made it - it overflowed from my blender (and its a larger one) and I used a 1.5 qt loaf pan and it just fit. I had to cook well over an hour and it was still jiggly, but as many reviewers said - it set in the refridgerator overnight. I look forward to making it again either splitting it up in the blender or using a mixer.
