My husband and I live in Fontana, no kids. My brother resides with us. More on that to follow. I'm struggling in the mortgage/real estate business. Maybe, someday, I'll try cooking school. I'm as white as can be, but I'm Mexican at heart. I grew up in Azusa, Ca. and went to Zacatecas, Mexico as an exchange student in the early 80's. I had a lot of Mexican influence growing up and Mexican food is my favorite thing to cook, learn, and excel at. The more I do from scratch, the more fun I have. I don't like taking shortcuts, although sometimes it's necessary. I have to cook 3 different ways. Spicy for me. For my husband and I, semi-spicy and traditional Italian recipes from my husband's family, which include tons of garlic. For my brother, recipes from our family - mild, no spice, not too much garlic. I've learned many of my husband's family's Italian recipes, which are very different from the normal everyday recipes. I use ingredients that I'd never used before. And, I can make tacos taste almost as good as my mom. Rice - I'm horrible at it. From scratch, ok sometimes, out of a box forget it!!! Go figure!
