About this Cook
Newlywed, I'm just trying to get just a little more creative in the kitchen & add to my list of "Oh, I can't burn that" recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with a starch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I enjoy cooking anything we learned from my grandmother....including her awesome Texas chocolate sheet cake
My cooking triumphs
I celebrate any meal I don't manage to burn
My cooking tragedies
replacing salt instead of sugar in a dewberry cobbler. Yum. Starting a fire boiling water....takes talent!

Banana Bread II
Really good! I added a SMALL amount of nutmeg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of vanilla to the mixture. I also used bananas that were a little overripe, which makes the banana flavor a bit more intense. YUM!

Bean 'N' Beef Crescent Pie
This recipe is simple and a nice change from soft taco night. I used Mama Renfro's Roasted Chipotle hot sauce for a great smokey flavor. The 1 can of cresent rolls didn't exactly cover the entire dish, so I had to use two. (Granted I didn't try too hard to make 1 can work) Next time I might attempt to use a deep dish pie pan.

Au Gratin Beef Bake
Easy to make, enjoyed the extra flavor the tomato sauce gave the dish. Simple middle of the week dinner
