About this Cook
Growing up all my mom let me do in the kitchen was dishes and baking. Today I still hate doing dishes but still enjoy baking. I am still learning how to do a little of this and a little of that and voila a good dish! I usually follow recipes to the letter but my boyfriend is teaching me to use them more as a guide. I'm enjoying cooking more and more.
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna, cream pies (I get rave reviews on these at carry-ins), pasta dishes, quick breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
grilling outdoors!
My cooking triumphs
Making my own marianra sauce.
My cooking tragedies
I made chicken catattori (?sp) and made a second batch, which I burnt while we ate the first batch because I thought I had turned the heat down but didn't.

Marinade for Steak I
I had several steaks I bought on mark down due to close dated sell date. I brought them home and froze them. Came time for a cook out I wasn't sure how good they'd be. Tried this recipe. Followed other reviewers suggestions by adding some A-1 sauce. I also added zesty Italian dressing as a matter of personal preference. Marinated the steaks for 24 hours. They were a huge hit! All of them turned out tender and juicy and full of flavor! This marinade isn't good for any cuts of meats, it's GREAT for all cuts of meat! I will definitely be using this recipe again! My better half was still commenting the next day on how well the steaks were with this marinade! Thank you so very much for sharing such a great recipe!

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad
I was unsure of this recipe because of the ingredients but I wanted a new twist on a favorite dish. I omitted the carrots (we're not into carrots, it's a personal preference) but followed the rest of the recipe as it is. Tasted it right after mixing it all together. Something was missing so I added paprika (again a personal preference). It helped but still not sure of taste so I put it in the frig to let the flavors blend. When we had with our dinner later on that day it was GREAT! the secret to this recipe for the best tasting flavor is to let it sit so the flavors can blend. The result is so worth the wait! I will definitely make this recipe again! Thank you so much for sharing such a great recipe!

No Fry Crab Rangoon
Great recipe! I did add some curry and lemon juice for just a tad more flavor to our liking. Thanks for sharing! Will definitely make again!
