Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
Fantabulous! Followed the recipe to the T and made 12 servings to last for leftovers in lunches during the cooler days here in Colorado! Will be great with with biscuits... I used Fat Free Half and Half, AND FF Evaporated Milk, and I used turkey bacon. However, I did have leftover bacon grease, so I used that. I am certain this is even tastier with real bacon, and half and half.

Pork Chops Deluxe

The house is smelling good! I chopped onion and garlic, as I do not have any mushies. I poured in about a 1/4 C of Pinot Noir. it's simmering now for 30mins. Serving stir friend green beans and a brown and wild rice medley. Thank you Uncle Bens :-D

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
5 stars - I loved this recipe! I had a package of 4 chix breasts and all the ingredients for the marinade. I chopped fresh rosemary like it called for and it was the perfect hint of flavor. The vinegar definite helps keep the chicken breast moist, so don't leave it out. Cider vinegar would also work... For a side, I made stir fried green beans with bacon bits and red onion. This was a great low-carb meal... next time I will use fat-free ranch dressing!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
This is a great recipe for ham.. I really have only had ham that my grandmother used to cook, but we liked this. It's quick and easy, and I did not feel like spending alot of time in the kitchen. I used a 3.75 lb ham, and cooked it about 3.5 hours on low, and it fell off the bone. Served with baked beans and mashers... Oh, and I put a piece of foil over the top of the crock then put the lid on.

Lazy Lasagna II

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
The house is smelling up nicely as this dish has another 20mins to go, with the lid off. I chopped up several (more than 5) cloves of garlic and added to the sauce, also adding a small amount of water to the sauce. Maybe a cup total. I used a 42 ounce jar of simple sauce and added fresh basil mushrooms and italian seasoning to it, and simmered it on the stove for a bit. I am not sure why people give this recipe a poor review when the already written reviews are stating to add more water. This is a great recipe idea... no layering of sauce, noodles, ricotta, sauce, noodles, ricotta - because the raviolis already contain enough ricotta. However, if you have the time, you can sprinkle a handful of mozz, or what have you, between layers. I recommend par-boiling the raviolis before preparing the dish. 30mins later: Fantastic! This was a really yummy meal - easy to make and a bit hit with everyone. A 13x9 will feed at least 8-10 people, especially if you include garlic bread and salad! We (2 of us) barely put a dent in it. It will be great for leftovers and lunches for my man. Thanks for sharing!

This soup was very satisfying! I followed the recipe to the T but you could change it up and add garlic or substitute the meat for anything that sounds good to you!

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I know if you are skeptical like me, this recipe doesn't really "sound" all that fabulous. However - I made this for my husband last night and he absolutely devoured it! I made green beans with bacon and onion, let this cook down and also made mashed potatoes and gravy. A very simple American meal and it was so delicious. I adjusted the recipe to make 8 servings so we'd have leftovers, because who doesn't like a meatloaf sammie the next day? My husband does and he just sent me a text that the meatloaf is delicious! I didn't swap anything out, add anything, and followed the recipe to the specifications. Highly recommended!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Why is everyone poo-pooing this recipe? It's styled after Chicago pizza. Maybe it doesn't taste like Home Run Inn, but it sure looks good ... it's worth a try!

French Toast Casserole

I made this a while back for my boyfriend and I for breakfast. It was really good. I'm going to make it again today at work, for my co-workers since we have all the ingredients. But, why does it fall after it cools? It's so nice when it's big and puffy after taking it out of the oven .. but it does fall.

Hamburger Pie

This was a good recipe! One serving was very filling, yet my wonderful man had two servings. Very easy to make, I used instant potatoes (6 servings) and I added some garlic to the meat mixture, and cooked the green beans with the meat mixture too. I only had one can of tomato soup, so i opened a can of tomato paste, used 2/3rds of that and added just a 1/4 cup of water .... it's tasty and will be nice for a hot lunch in my boyfriend's thermos! Thanks!

Beef Taco Skillet

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
This was really great... very easy too! I didn't have any flour tortillas so I used 3 cups of elbow macaroni, measured before cooking. It worked well, with a little leftover. I made the recipe for 10 since there were guys over to play guitars and jam a little with my boyfriend. It made ALOT but they devoured it and had 3 bowls each which left just enough for one bowl for myself and a little leftover for lunch. I added chopped onion, chopped garlic, cayenne, and a no salt organic seasoning which I picked up at Costco some time back and this really turned out tasty!
