About this Cook
I live in the northeast. As my screen name suggests, i do work on a blasting crew; crazy, i know, since my husband is a nurse! I love to learn languages and anything that has to do with different cultures. I have a culturally diverse family. HUGE hockey fan, i ride horses, and snowboard.
My favorite things to cook
International cuisine such as Indian (love curries), middle eastern, Italian (gotta know ones roots), and soups. I am a vegetarian, although my husband is not.
My cooking triumphs
FALAFELS!!!!!!! that would be the most recent and most exciting!!!

Creamy Sweet Potato With Ginger Soup
This is one of the richest, silkiest, velvetiest soups ive ever had. This is so wonderful. The only alterations i made was using unsweeteded plain Silk soymilk and added one more clove of garlic. This is so simple and so impressive. I served it with a small side salad with a drizzle of caesar dressing and it was to die for!!

Vegan-Friendly Falafel
EXCELLENT RECIPE!!! This is wonderful!! I love that it uses dry and not canned garbanzo beans. I tried to bake them but that didn't work out as well as i hoped (maybe i did something wrong). This is a great recipe that didn't disappoint. I have family that is from the middle east and since they moved its been difficult to get my falafel fix.. This totally hit the spot! THANK YOU!!

Creamy Butternut Squash With Cinnamon Soup
WOW!!!! This was amazing. I LOVE butternut squash...my husband does not- but he LOVED this. As did my mom. The only change i made was instead of milk or half and half i used Silk Plain soymilk and it was wonderful.
