My babe and I
About this Cook
I'm a puppy-loving city girl who doesn't eat meat :)
My favorite things to cook
Whole Wheat Pastas, Snow Pea Stir Fry, Omelettes, Pad Thai, Banana Bread
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's famous perogies, baked zucchini & yams - I remember watching her prepare these fam-faves at holidays. Traditionally we roast fresh pumpkin seeds with spices at Hallowe'en after carving our pumpkins on the kitchen table! I loved watching my older brother and grandma bake fresh pies at the cottage with the berries and rhubarb we'd just picked...when I smell fresh pies baking it always makes me cheerful :)
My cooking triumphs
My famous chocolate chip banana bread :) Its so delicious my co-workers and friends bring me bananas so I can stock up and bake a batch for them. A local juice shop owner in the village even offered to buy my recipe or have me deliver it to them fresh weekly!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips
So fabulous!!! I wanted to bring something different next time the girls got together and this was the winner! It went over fantastic, all loved it, although I let it refridgerate overnight and it was quite runny. The next time I made it I did make some slight variations - such as only using 1 apple and only 1 tbsp of preserves to reduce the liquidity, added some diced mango. Also, I melted 2 tbsp of butter with the brown sugar in the microwave and coated the chips before baking. They turned out soft and brown...lovely. Overall, a huge hit! I will continue to whip this up when we're in the mood for something fun and fruity!!! Thanks for sharing :)

Grilled Peanut Chicken
Great, easy recipe! I'm giving a 4 though, bcz the concept is great but I did have to make several changes (as another user stated). I used my skillet to cook the chicken and sauce instead of the grill, omitted the lemon juice, an extra punch of curry, and added some finely chopped waterchestnuts. It added a really lovely crunch...otherwise, I loved it!! I served with basmati rice, excellent flavour! Thanks for sharing!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II
Love Love Love!!! Ahhhh sweet love! I followed many of the user suggestions, as well, such as throwing in some vanilla and cinnamon, using butter instead of shortening, coating choco chips in light flour. I also tossed in some nutmeg and it gave it that special fall treat flavour. Some variations, but still - wonderful recipe! My co-workers beg me for it, my family blackmails me for it...and my tummy hates me for it because I can't stop eating it. Thanks for sharing! Happy Baking :)
